Online Psychotherapy for Adults in California | English & Spanish

I am Eugenia Tarzibachi, a bilingual psychotherapist offering online therapy for adults in California in English and Spanish. With more than 20 years of clinical experience in Argentina and the United States, I help individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and significant life transitions.

My approach combines psychodynamic psychotherapy with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy for trauma. I tailor treatment to each person's history, needs, and goals, creating space to understand recurring emotional and relational patterns while developing new ways of responding to life's challenges.

My Approach to Psychotherapy

I believe meaningful therapy involves more than relieving symptoms. It can also help us understand how past experiences shape our present lives, relationships, sense of identity, and expectations of ourselves and others.

My work integrates psychodynamic psychotherapy and EMDR, drawing on additional therapeutic strategies when appropriate. Together, we explore the emotional experiences and patterns that may contribute to distress while working toward greater self-understanding, emotional flexibility, and lasting change.

Areas of Focus

My clinical interests include:

  • Trauma Therapy & EMDR: Support for people affected by distressing experiences, including single-incident trauma and complex or developmental trauma.

  • Anxiety & Life Transitions: Therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity questions, and major personal or professional changes.

  • Parenting & Family Transitions: Support for parents navigating adolescence, changing family dynamics, and their children's growing independence.

  • Young Adults & Emerging Adulthood: Support with identity, relationships, academic or professional pressures, independence, and the transition into adulthood.

  • Perinatal & Reproductive Mental Health: Emotional support related to fertility challenges, infertility and IVF, pregnancy, birth experiences, postpartum adjustment, and other reproductive and women's health transitions.

  • Expat Therapy & Migration Grief: Support for people navigating cultural adjustment, belonging, identity, and the emotional challenges of building a life across cultures.

An International Clinical and Academic Background

My professional background spans clinical practice, research, teaching, and public health. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT #146183), an EMDR Certified Therapist, and a Licensed Psychologist in Argentina (M.N. 35930). My bilingual and cross-cultural experience informs my understanding of how family, culture, migration, and life circumstances shape emotional well-being.

In addition to my clinical work, I have contributed to academic research and teaching in Argentina and the United States. I have served as an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco and the University of Buenos Aires, directed the Graduate Program in Gender Equity and Health at the University of San Martín, and consulted on gender and health for the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization.

I am also a published author in English and Spanish, with work spanning books, articles, and research studies. My professional interests have long included gender equity, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health across the lifespan and across socioeconomic contexts.

Education & Professional Recognition

My academic training includes a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master's in Clinical Psychology from the University of San Francisco, a Master's in Education from Universidad de San Andrés, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires.

In 2024, I received the Kristina Carey Scholarship from CAMFT Marin. I was also accepted into the 2025–2026 Seasoned Clinicians Program at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis.

Therapy in English and Spanish

I offer online psychotherapy to adults located in California, with sessions available in English and Spanish. My Argentine professional background also informs my interest in working with expatriates and people navigating life between cultures. International services are subject to the professional regulations applicable where each client is located.

If you are looking for a therapist to help you work through trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, or a significant life transition, I invite you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation to explore whether working together may be a good fit.
